We drove down Thursday afternoon, took the longer, windy route there but it worked out ok. Got in around 10 Thursday night and didn't hang out for too long before we called it a night. Megan's gradution was on Friday afternoon, so we spent the morning getting the last of some boxes unpacked in her new house then headed for the ceremony (in the rain!). Luckily the weather shaped up during the ceremony because Megan had planned a BBQ for afterwards for friends. Her new patio and patio set worked perfect for the backyard BBQ.
Saturday morning was spent doing some more things around the house and in the yard. Then ate lunch/snack at Yogurt Story. Best ice-cream place ever! We headed into Dallas (Denton is a suburb on the north side of Dallas) to go to the 6th Floor Museum. It's the School Book Depository where Lee Harvey Oswald shot JFK. They've made the 6th floor into a museum with all sorts of neat things about Kennedy, Oswald, and what happened that day and the days/years to follow. I learned alot and am so glad we were able to go! Then we went to dinner at my mom's favorite resteraunt "in the whole world", Javiers. "Mexican" food, but it wasn't your typical, Jose Peppers stuff! Delicious though!
This morning we woke up at the crack of dawn (or so it felt!) and headed home. The trip home went a bit faster since we took the interstate the whole way. We were still glad to get home and get our puppies!
Thanks to my ILs and Megan and Chris we were able to make the trip sans the 2 dogs. Even though Mollie wasn't the best host guest, she had a blast playing with Scout. Aggie enjoyed having some alone time with her grandparents and I know she really loved being spoiled by them!!
We have our "parent intro class" for Mollie tomorrow night. We're anxious to get her started in her Puppy Kindergarten classes! Especially to see if we can get any tips for potty training! :)
John's wrapping up his last week of school this week. The kids have a half day on Friday and then he just has to go back on Monday then HELLO SUMMER!! I'm babysitting my nephew this Monday and Tuesday again, then just next Monday and HELLO SUMMER for me!! I'm still not too sure what I'm going to do this summer...go to the pool all day?? Looking for some babysitting jobs possibly, still a tiny chance for summer school too. John's doing summer school which is 5 weeks, 4 days a week, just in the mornings. Lucky dog!
We're excited for many lake trips this summer, including over Memorial Day Weekend for a little bit. Here are some pictures from recently! Enjoy and have a FANTASTIC week!
