Spring Break--Part 1

Wait, isn't this week Spring Break?  Although today hasn't been too bad, the week started off on Monday with snow.  SNOW!!!   So, not really sure it's spring yet.  And there have been no breaks for the hubs and I.  So it's been more like work work work, snow snow snow.

Projects are happening all over our house.  Painting and decorating mostly with a few not so exciting fixes.  I'll just upload the pictures I've taken and let them speak for itself.

I forgot to take an actual "pre" picture, but here's the room before we started painting, but after moving out the chest, dresser, & night stand and moving the bed to the middle of the room.

The morning of day 2.  The bedroom paint went on beautifully and does not need a second coat (yes!!).

Morning Day 2 again, prepping the bathroom.  Oh if we only knew what the day would bring us...

We didn't exactly realize just how tall our bathroom walls were until we were trying to cut-in along the ceiling.  We tried 4 different ladders from 4 different houses (well, one was ours) before we finally found one that worked (when I leaned and stood on my tip-toes).
Thanks hubs for the beautiful picture of my bum.

Poor Mollie kept getting tape stuck to her feet.  The poor dogs spent a lot of their time out on the deck so they would stay out of trouble, but when they were in the house they did a pretty good job!
(Whoa crazy eyes!)

After my wonderful shopping spree for accessories!!

Hurray for the furniture being back!  After 2 nights sleeping on the smaller guest bed, we couldn't take it anymore.  This is night of day 3 (we did have a break on Monday to play with the cutest nephew ever).

If only we can find the bed under all that stuff.

Bathroom is DONE!!  I would like to say that I will NEVER paint this bathroom again!
(I know it looks like the paint is different colors, but I promise it's not!!)

Hubby is working on painting the basement bathroom.  Tomorrow I'm planning on working more crafty and getting all the accessories done and put up.  I'm even doing some DIY!
I'll try to update shortly!!

Love & Logic--It Worked!!

Although I haven't read the whole book ( yet;) ) I feel like I follow love and logic techniques and ideas on a daily basis.  BUT, I've never seen it work in action as well as I did last week.  Here's the story (without giving too many details; I don't want to be the next Natalie M.!!!)

I had a second grade group in my room watching the fantastic video.  I was putting out a fire somewhere else when a girl told me a boy had pushed her.  I confronted the boy and he told me he had "tripped" on the leg of a desk and "accidentally" ran into her.  I could tell by the way the boy was telling me what happened (and his history) that this was probably not true so I continued to press him about it.  When a smirk started to cross his face while he was telling me he was telling the truth, I was certain he was lying.  SO...I said "well, you think about what really happened, and we'll talk about it later; probably at recess."  And what do you know, he said "Oh! I'm ready to tell the truth now!"
HA!  Caught you!
I responded with, "Well, I'm not ready to discuss it right now, but don't worry about it too much, we'll talk about it at recess."
When I went out at recess and confronted him, he confessed without me even having to say anything!!  He would have NEVER confessed in the classroom!!
I gave myself a pat on the back! ;)
